passenger/freight

Jantar Unity is an innovative ro-pax ferry, designed for the transport of freight units and passengers travelling with their vehicles. She has been developed with a strong focus on travel comfort, operational safety and environmental responsibility, combining advanced technology with on-board convenience.

Comfort and Safety

Jantar Unity complies with the Safe Return to Port (SRtP) requirements. This means that even in the event of a serious failure, the vessel is capable of safely returning to port under her own power.

The modern propulsion system and optimised hull design significantly reduce vibrations and noise levels, particularly during overnight sailings. The installation of azimuth thrusters (azipods) and advanced ballast systems ensures improved manoeuvrability, enhanced stability and better response to waves, even in demanding weather conditions. As a result, the voyage is smooth and rolling is reduced to a minimum.

On board, passengers can enjoy comfortable public areas including a cafeteria, bars and dedicated family zones. All cabins have been designed to hotel standard, ensuring comfort during both day crossings and night sailings.

The modern air-conditioning system with heat recovery (recuperation) guarantees fresh air and a pleasant indoor climate throughout the year.

Environmental Performance and Modern Propulsion

Jantar Unity is equipped with four dual-fuel engines operating on LNG (liquefied natural gas) and marine diesel oil. The use of natural gas reduces CO₂ emissions by approximately 25% compared to conventional vessels.

The propulsion system operates in a hybrid configuration supported by battery power, which reduces fuel consumption and exhaust emissions, particularly during port manoeuvres and low-speed operations. The vessel complies with IMO Tier III standards, currently the most stringent emission regulations for maritime transport.

The next-generation hybrid propulsion system has been designed to maximise efficiency while minimising environmental impact. As a result, Jantar Unity achieves lower fuel consumption and further reductions in emissions.
